Weight Loss Motivation

Weight loss motivation can come in many forms, but the one that works best for you is the backbone of weight loss success stories with lifetime happy endings!
Weight loss motivation is central to all weight loss success stories for women. It is actually pretty easy in the very beginning because newness of the experience, the support and compliments from friends who want to see you succeed, and ease of which the first several pounds come off when you make healthy changes in your nutrition and exercise regimes all contribute to the positiveness.
However, once your body starts to adapt, and fat loss becomes a little tougher or even stalls, does your weight loss motivation go right out the window?
It doesn't have to! In the next few minutes I'll provide you several ideas that can sustain you from, "I can't lose weight!" to "I lost weight. I did it!"
First, though, I want you to think about the primary reason you decided to make a change in your eating habits and create a more positive lifestyle. This will enhance the steps you take for inspiration on reaching your fat loss goal. Even something as simple as "I want to look better" or "I want to be able to wear cute clothes" can be more powerful than you imagine.
This was the first feeling in your heart when you started your journey and it will be the most deeply cherished. You can build plenty of positive visualizations on just these simple statements. You will find that many weight loss success stories came about from uncomplicated, but heartfelt goals that mattered to the person pursuing them.
Reviewing and "owning" your primary motivation for weight loss is key to your success. Just like air travel and the stock market, losing weight does NOT move in a straight line. There are always corrections and these should be seen as positives because that means the Universe sees you on course, but it has to test you before you can be rewarded.
Here are a few truths about weight loss that you need to keep in front of you at all times:

I'm sure others can give you even more concrete observations, but you do not need to be overloaded. Simple is better. Also, please do not compare yourself with anyone else. We are all in different places in our weight loss journey. I know this will be difficult, but it is a skill that will benefit you for life.
Okay...let's look at some weight loss motivation tips that will help you.
Weight Loss Motivation Tips
1. Be Slim - Picture yourself being slim...but more importantly, begin to THINK like a slim person. This is never more important than when you have cravings for sugar foods or high-carb/high-fat foods. Overweight women tend
to think about how good food will taste and how good they will feel while eating it. Trim people think about the consequences. They can make a tactile visual of how heavy a calorie-bloated dessert or a starchy processed food selection will feel in their stomach. You can practice this same imagery when you begin to think of weight-increasing comfort foods. Do it until it becomes a habit.
2. Accept Your Feelings - There will be times when you feel that making important lifestyle changes will be more difficult than you first imagined. Accept them! Accept that you are having these feelings and that they are totally normal. Once you accept something, you no longer have to fight it. This does not mean you are rolling over and giving in to them, it just acknowledges that you are insightful into emotions that could derail your fat loss goals...and you are not going to be controlled by them.
3. Surround Yourself With Fit People - When you surround yourself with people who have the same goals, it makes it much easier to weather the tough times. By expanding your circle of friends to include slim/fit people, you are personalizing your weight loss goals. I am not saying completely dismiss your friends who are not fit and slender, just expand your friendship to a group (your Zumba class or other gals you meet at the gym) so that you can understand how they integrate a completely different lifestyle. Research has shown that the body type of people you hangout with is directly associated with your own size and weight.
4. Be an Inspiration - When you know someone else looks up to you for the way you are living your life, it makes you more accountable to yourself. When someone comes along who compliments you or asks how you have accomplished so much, be open to supporting them in their own weight loss success story. Weight loss motivation comes in many different forms and we don't always know what the Universe will present us.
5. Be Fair To Yourself - When you make significant lifestyle changes, you will not do it perfectly. After all, you are trying to change years of ingrained behavior. You are going have false steps, make mistakes, and backslide a little...but it is OKAY. Know ahead of time that this will happen and have a plan in place to get back on course. (Sometimes, just thinking of the alternative to a life without fat is enough to get you back.)
Weight loss motivation is not a perfect science. All weight loss success stories for women are different, but they all have a common thread of overcoming obstacles and forging on despite setbacks.
The more small successes you stack on top of each other, the easier things will become. Your first six months will be less difficult than your next six months (they can be tough), but usually after you reach a year of making good food choices, getting sugar foods and calorie-bloated processed foods out of your current diet, and exercising consistently and regularly...you have crossed over to a more positive lifestyle.
Weight loss success stories have a chapter waiting with blank pages. You will be surprised at the weight loss motivation you come up with naturally as you move along this lifelong journey of good health.
